OUR MISSION

eSC exists to promote micromobility solutions to a society searching for a smarter, cleaner tomorrow.

sUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, and we are committed to providing a net-zero carbon racing series from inception.

Every element of our Championship, both on and off track, is being assessed for environmental best practice, and by partnering with mission-driven organisations who share our values for a greener future, we aim to be the world's most sustainable sport.

Our life cycle assessment of the SX-1 eSkootr means that it has been developed using the latest fully recyclable battery technology, advanced natural fibre bodywork and high performance natural rubber tyres.

The series aims to apply the best sustainability innovations from the racetrack to the everyday user’s micromobility experience, in turn encouraging more liveable cities across the world.

We’ll be sharing more about our environmental mission, programme, partners and advocacy campaigns with you soon.

safety

Safety is core to our Championship's mission, promoting operational performance and a roadmap for real world relevance.

A science-based commitment to safety is a fundamental requirement for any racing series, and motorsport has long been recognised as a potential incubator and accelerator for socially relevant technology innovation and transfer.

Our multi-stakeholder partnership approach to developing safety research and best practice will lead to innovations in electric scooter design, rider safety equipment and transport infrastructure that can be implemented into the world of consumer micromobility.

We’ll be sharing more about our road safety mission, programme, partners and advocacy campaigns with you soon.

ACCESSiBILITY

Sport should be for all, and we want to provide the world's most accessible and inclusive racing championship with riders coming from all areas of society.

We want everyone to have an equal opportunity to try our new sport and to aspire to be a future World Champion. To do this we are working to develop an accessible and clear pathway from the grassroots to elite level, with a national and regional infrastructure to facilitate rider and team development.

Away from racing, shared micromobility services can play a vitally important part in addressing the needs of people excluded from safe, affordable and clean mobility options. All too often, communities who experience transport poverty are also excluded from the wider economic, social and public health benefits that such access enables.

Accordingly, we are committed to promoting mobility equity and encouraging the widest possible reach of affordable micromobility networks, services and protected infrastructure.

WHO ARE WE?

eSC was founded by Hrag Sarkissian and Khalil Beschir in 2019.

Faced with the challenge of developing a new form of motorsport, with no existing frame of reference, they quickly brought in a team of like-minded individuals to pull together eSC’s initial specification.

Central to the birth of the concept were ex-F1 and Le Mans racer Alex Wurz, who was appointed eSC Safety Ambassador, and Formula E champion Lucas Di Grassi, who became the series’ Sustainability Ambassador.
